Marilyn C. Collins (Scott), 93, a longtime resident of Plainfield, died Sunday, January 21, at her home. She was born August 22, 1924 in Lockport.
Beloved wife of the late Lorne Collins, loving mother of Mayor Michael (Jo Ann) Collins, Sandra (Skip) Masters, Patty (Hal) Zimmerman, Kathy (Dennis) Grommon, Tim (Christine) Collins, Daniel Collins, Terry (Sue) Collins, Maureen (Ken) Kaluzny and James Collins, adored grandmother of 22, great-grandmother of 21 and great-great-grandmother of 3, dear sister of the late John Scott, Nancy Strobel and Margaret Salyer.
Marilyn was a Plainfield resident for the past 70 years and a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church where she was elected “Woman of the Year” in 2015.
The Collins family wishes to express their thanks you to all the caregivers at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Visitation is Wednesday, January 24, 4-8 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 25, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield.
Interment: St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield.
