Margaret M. Heck, nee Welker, age 75, born April 30, 1940, in Perryville, Missouri, to the late Glenton and Elizabeth Welker, died March 27 in Cape Coral, Florida.
Survived in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Ronald E. Heck. Their surviving children are Pam (Dale) Parker, Jeff (Annette) Heck, Greg (Janet) Heck, Angela (Jim) Vallarta, Rob (Tammy) Heck, Tim (Cheryl) Heck and Ron Heck, as well as 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Margaret, known to her childhood friends as Margie, graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School in Perryville. After marriage to Ron, she moved to Joliet to raise her seven children, where she was active in St. Mary’s Plainfield mother’s club and had a successful career in retail sales. She was strong in her faith, loved to travel, tend her garden and spend winters in Florida.
A memorial mass will be held April 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville and a luncheon to follow at the Elks Lodge Perryville. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory.
