Karen M. Betzwiser, age 51, a longtime resident of Plainfield, passed away July 20, 2016, at her home.
She was born Nov. 4, 1964, in Joliet. Karen is survived by her loving son, Eric (Jessica) Buhle Jr. of Groton, Connecticut; her cherished grandson, Declan Buhle; her brothers, Robert (Sandy) Betzwiser of Plainfield and Brian (Maryl) Betzwiser of Yorkville; her nieces and nephew, Amie, Mary, Billy, Alex and Lauren Betzwiser; as well as several aunts, her uncle, numerous cousins and many great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Barbara Betzwiser.
Karen grew up in Plainfield and graduated from Plainfield High School, class of 1982. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Prairie State College and began her lifelong career in the dental industry. She was a dental hygienist at Dr. Engle’s office in Morris, Illinois, for more than 20 years and knew just about everyone in town.
Above all, Karen was proud of her son and grandson and couldn’t wait to share photos and stories of her grandson with anyone who would listen. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation was July 24 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Route 30 and Route 59 in Plainfield. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 25 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. Interment followed at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
