Obituary: Irene M. Weber-Kuhn

Irene M. Weber-Kuhn, nee Eipers, 90, of Plainfield, and for the past week of Fairbury, passed away peacefully Aug. 10, 2016, at Fairview Haven Nursing Home.

Her funeral was Aug. 16, with closing prayers at 10 a.m. at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Plainfield, and proceeded to a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation was Aug. 15 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Irene was born Sept. 8, 1925, in Lemont to Matt and Emma (nee Steinhouse) Eipers, and grew up on the family farm. She married Robert C. Weber June 25, 1949, and he preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1984. She married Robert D. Kuhn Dec. 29, 1986, and he survives her in Plainfield. She is also survived by her son, Charles (Jeanie) Weber of Cropsey; her grandson, Robert J. (Kimberly) Weber of Anchor; her four great-grandchildren, Ryan, Reed, Katelyn and Colton; her step-sons, Daniel L. (Joann) Kuhn of Naperville, Patrick R. (Sharyn) Kuhn of Ridott and Steven E. Kuhn of Plainfield; eight step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Ann (Gordon) Clark of Joliet; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, George (the late Lorraine) Eipers, and sisters, Alice (the late Earl) Edburg, Margaret (the late Howard) Hawes and Teresa (the late Tom) Barrowman.

After her marriage to Robert Weber, Irene dedicated her life to her family and enjoyed life on the family farm in Lockport. Throughout her life, she loved working on puzzles and word-search games and creating beautiful embroidery projects. She was a 67-year parishioner of St. Mary Immaculate Church, was a member of the CCW and a long-time greeter on Sunday mornings. Above all else, Irene will be remembered as the loving wife, mother and nana that she was and will be deeply missed.
