Nancy B. Anderson, age 83, of Plainfield, at rest Aug. 23, 2016, at the ManorCare Health Services in Hinsdale.
Born Dec. 2, 1932, in Joliet, the daughter of the late Clifton and Louise Brown; beloved wife of the late Robert B. Anderson; loving mother of Keith (Mimi) Anderson and Linda (Blair) Meyer; adored grandmother of Whitney and Matthew Anderson, and Brianna and Zachery Meyer; and cherished friend of Linda, Gary and Joel.
Nancy graduated from Mac Murray College and went on to Northern Illinois University and earned her master’s degree in guidance counseling. She was a longtime teacher and guidance counselor at Plainfield High School. Nancy was an avid horse woman and truly enjoyed showing her beloved WCH Callaway’s Pretty Penny. Member of the American Hackney Horse Society, the American Saddle Horse Museum, member of the United Professional Horseman Association and the USEF.

Visitation was Aug. 29 from 5 – 9 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield. Additional visitation held Aug. 30 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home, with services to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
