Mary Maxine Moore (nee Eichelberger) was born September 18, 1928, to Harvey L. and Margaret J. (Lantz) Eichelberger, and she was the fourth of eight children. Even though Maxine was active to the end of her life, having just renewed her driver’s license before her 89th birthday last month, she succumbed to the poor condition of her lungs and passed away in the hospital on October 23, 2017. Maxine grew up in Naperville and Oswego and lived most of her life in Plainfield where she raised five children. She always looked forward to the regular Sunday visits with her brothers and sisters at the family farm in Oswego. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her many plants, and she always kept busy working on puzzles and reading novels. Maxine is survived by four of her children, Kevin Moore of Gilbert, Ariz., Renee (Peter) McLenighan of Joliet, Kim Krol of Joliet, and Stacey Ganster of Walnut; and her grandchildren Nicholas (Silvia) McLenighan, Rachel McLenighan, Dakota Moore, all of Joliet, Shannon Moore of California, and Douglas Ganster of Walnut; and her step-grandchildren Kelly (Andy) McCrabb and Samantha (Carlos) Torrejon of Arizona; several great-grandchildren; and her brothers and sisters Ila Dedo, Harvey Eichelberger, Elwin (Jean) Eichelberger, Roger (Connie) Eichelberger, Vivian Lowe, Kay (Charles) Peak; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her youngest son Randy Moore, her oldest grandchild Joshua Krol, one sister, Beryl Hagermann, two brothers-in-law, Fritz Hagermann and Edward Dedo, and nephews Wendell Dedo and Brian Eichelberger. Memorial visitation was October 29 at Overmann-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd. in Plainfield. A celebration of Maxine’s Life followed at the funeral home.
