Charles F. Schrader, Jr., 84, a longtime resident of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2018 at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 30, 1933 in Lemont.
Charles is survived by his treasured companion of many years, Dolores Kucera; his loving children, Karen (Marty) Brauweiler of Plano,; Kevin (Pam) Schrader of Leland; Kathie (Jesse) Veliz of Bolingbrook; Ken (Pam) Schrader of Plainfield; and Keith (Kris) Schrader of Morris; his 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his dear sister, Mabel (the late Harry) Maas of Elgin; his brother-in-law, Francis Carlock and sister-in-law, Gerrie Spokas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and the Ray and Bernice Kucera family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Corrine Schrader, and their son, Randall Schrader, in infancy; his parents, Charles and Elizabeth Schrader, Sr.; and his siblings, Gilbert, Clarence, Roy, Eldon Schrader and Alice Dunn.
Charles was a lifelong farmer in the Lemont and Plainfield area. He was a longtime member of Will County Farm Bureau. Charles proudly served in the United States Army from 1956-1958 and earned an honorable discharge.
He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Naperville and a current longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church, Shorewood. Above all, Charles loved spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Visitation was May 6 at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield, and funeral services were May 7 at Hope Lutheran Church, 305 E.
