Richard L. Friddle Sr., age 78, of Plainfield, at rest May 3 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home in Joliet. Born April 14, 1938, in Joliet, the son of the late Everett and Edith Friddle.
Beloved husband of Mary; loving father of Richard (Peggy) Friddle Jr. and Michael (Janet) Friddle; cherished grandfather of Kelsie, Matthew, Kyle, Jarod and Richard; and dear brother of Robert (Barbara) Friddle.
Richard served with the U.S. Army, was a retired volunteer fireman with the Plainfield Fire Protection District, former commissioner of PAC baseball and softball, worked at the Supervalue Distribution Center and Argonne National Lab, and was the owner and operator of Friddle
Painting and Decorating for 22 years. The family would like to thank the Edward Heart Hospital and the Joliet Area Community Area Hospice nurses and doctors for their kindness and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Edward Hospital Therapy Dogs are appreciated.
Visitation was May 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield. Private family inurnment at a later date.
