John Dubrovich Jr., 92 of Plainfield, at rest Aug. 29, 2016, at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. Born July 7, 1924, in Grindstone, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Pauline (Grzincic) Dubrovich Sr.
Beloved father of Patricia (James) Clem, Steve, Jean (Jeffrey) Reppy and Paula Mingucci; beloved grandfather to Jonathan, Justin and Jason Reppy, and April, Megan and Alicia Mingucci. Also survived by four great grandchildren; sister Rosemarie McGinn; brothers Paul and Frank (Mitzi); special cousin Mary Ellen Music; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and his special furry companion, Amy. Dubrovich is preceded in death by his parents, brothers George and Michael (Lois), and brother-in-law Harold McGinn.
John’s U.S. Marine service included the Asiatic-Pacific area from Feb. 22, 1943, to May 1, 1945; in action at Bougainville from Nov. 6, 1943, to Jan. 14, 1944; Quam, Marianas Islands July 21, 1944, to Aug. 10, 1944; Iwo Jima Feb. 27, 1945, to March 16, 1945.
He retired from Amoco Research Center in 1993.
Private family services will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Arrangements entrusted to Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Road, Plainfield.
