Linda S. Lantz, nee Murphy, age 69, a resident of Minooka passed away peacefully on December 9, 2016 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on December 15, 1946 in Booneville, Miss. Linda is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Roger E. Lantz; her loving daughters, Bernadette Lee, Tamatha (Aaron) Boyd and Lynette (Tim) Jolly; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Will) Smith, Robbie Russell, Cassidy Lee, Lucas and Olivia Boyd, Scott and Samantha Jolly and great-grandchildren, Sophia and Whyatt. Her dear sister, Mary Lou Cohen; many nieces and nephews and her fur babies, Pickle, Oreo and Rex also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Jessie (nee Beck) Murphy; her brothers, Walter, Jr. and James Ricky Murphy, Sr. and her nephew, J.R. Murphy. Linda enjoyed her 15-year career as a CNA at Our Lady of Angels in Joliet. She loved her grandchildren, her garden and crafting. Her pride and joy was her baby Oreo. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the 7th floor and 3rd floor ICU nurses at St. Joe’s for the incredible care given to Linda throughout her stays. For those who would like to leave a lasting tribute to Linda’s life, memorials to either the family or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated. Visitation is Friday, December 16, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Family members will conclude the evening with sharing of memories. A private family interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
